Remote Sensing by John R. Jensen,

Remote Sensing by John R. Jensen,
This book introduces the principles of remote sensing from an Earth resource perspective. It describes a) the fundamental characteristics of electromagnetic radiation and how the energy interacts with Earth materials such as vegetation, water, soil and rock, b) how the energy reflected or emitted from these materials is recorded using a variety of remote sensing instruments (e.g., cameras, multispectral scanners, hyperspectral instruments, RADAR), and c) how we can extract fundamental biophysical or land use/land cover information from the remote sensor data. The history of remote sensing, the principles of visual photo-interpretation, and photogrammetry are also presented. Application chapters focus on remote sensing of vegetation, water, urban land use, and soil/rock and geomorphic features. The book was written for physical, natural, and social scientists interested in how remote sensing of the environment can be used to solve real-world problems. The following features make this book easy to comprehend and apply: a) it contains hundreds of illustrations specially designed to make complex principles easy to understand, b) a substantial reference list at the end of each chapter, c) the 8.5 x 11" format allows the remote sensing images and diagrams to be easily interpreted, d) 32 pages of color are used to display remote sensing images or biophysical information that may be extracted from remote sensor data, and e) an Appendix provides Internet addresses for the most important sources of remote sensing information. Exercises and book illustrations are made available to instructors via the author's website. This book is a companion to "Introductory Digital Image Processing: A RemoteSensing Perspective" (Prentice-Hall, Inc., 1996) which introduces the fundamentals of digital image analysis. It is ideal for undergraduate or graduate courses in airphoto interpretation and remote sensing.

Microsoft .Net Remoting by Scott McLean,
Microsoft .Net Remoting by Scott McLean,
This title shows developers how to take full advantage of Microsoft .NET Remoting -- a key component of the .NET Framework that provides a way to expose .NET objects across multiple platforms to enable computing anytime, anywhere, and on any device. This title shows developers how to build Internet-based, distributed applications using Microsoft .NET Remoting, which enables powerful remote interaction among objects. A fundamental understanding of .NET Remoting is crucial as developers shift to developing distributed, Internet-based applications. Until recently, DCOM was the preferred method for developing distributed applications on Microsoft platforms. But as this book demonstrates, the .NET Remoting architecture is much easier to use and extend than DCOM. The book covers all aspects of .NET Remoting, including in-depth coverage of the .NET Remoting architecture plus concrete examples, best practices, and performance tips to show how to extend and customize the framework.

Nintendo Seal of Quality - The Nintendo Seal of Quality is a gold seal that Nintendo places on any game licensed for use on one of its video game consoles, denoting that the game has been properly licensed by Nintendo (and in theory, been checked for quality). It is a golden starburst seal that says inside "Original Nintendo Seal of Quality" or just "Official Nintendo Seal" in the more recent version.

Nintendo EAD Tokyo - Nintendo EAD Tokyo (Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development Tokyo) is a recently formed video game development studio at Nintendo. EAD Tokyo is headed by Yoshiaki Koizumi and Takao Shimizu and is the first in-house Nintendo development studio to be located outside of the Nintendo headquarters in Kyoto.

Super Nintendo Emulator SE - The Super Nintendo Emulator SE was a Nintendo-sponsored game development system for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was designed by Intelligent Systems, and sold only to licensed Nintendo development houses.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection - The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is an online service run by Nintendo to facilitate free Internet play in compatible Nintendo DS and Nintendo Revolution games. The service was launched in the US on November 14, 2005 with the release of Mario Kart DS and Tony Hawk's American Sk8land, in Australia on November 17, 2005 with the release of Mario Kart DS, in the UK on 18 November, 2005 with the release of Tony Hawk's American Sk8land, in Europe on ...
